What is Lima Charlie?

A self-service tool that walks you through the VA disability claims process A to Z - finding conditions you may be missing (including secondaries), building evidence, writing statements, prepping for the C&P exam, and decoding your decision letter. Think of it as TurboTax for your VA claim: you stay in command, it keeps you from missing anything.

Are you a VSO, law firm, or part of the VA?

No. We're an independent educational tool - not a Veterans Service Organization, law firm, accredited claims agent, or VA representative, and nothing here is legal or medical advice. Free help from accredited VSOs is always available at VA.gov.

What’s free and what’s paid?

Free: the scan, your full results (conditions found and the estimated gap), the calculator, the condition explorer, and the glossary. The one-time workup unlocks the working tools: My Claims (your A-to-Z roadmap), per-condition Battle Plans, Statement Builders, Doctor Packets, C&P Exam Prep, and the Decision Decoder.

How much does it cost?

$795 once. Founding members pay $495 while founder spots last - the first 100.

  • No subscription. And never a percentage of your back pay or monthly check. Your benefits stay 100% yours.
  • Beta invite code? $1 at checkout.Same product, forever access, in exchange for honest feedback.
  • For comparison:unaccredited claims firms commonly charge $4,500–$20,000, or take a cut of your check for years.

What happens when the 100 spots are gone?

The price goes to $795. Founding members keep every future update at no extra cost - that does not expire when the spots do.

Do you file the claim for me?

No - you file your own claim, and that's by design (it's also what keeps this legal and keeps your benefits untouched). The tools produce everything you need to file it well: the evidence list, the exact claim language, the statements, and the filing walkthrough on VA.gov.

What’s the difference between a 100% rating and TDIU? Can I work?

Same monthly check, opposite work rules.

  • 100% schedular - work all you want.Earned through your combined ratings. Full-time, zero restrictions, forever.
  • TDIU - work is the thing that ends it.It pays at the 100% rate to veterans below 100% precisely because their conditions prevent steady work. Holding substantially gainful employment (roughly, steady work above the federal poverty line) generally ends it.

On TDIU and thinking about a job? Understand that trade-off first. The TDIU Walkthrough maps your own numbers against the thresholds and hands you the forms.

Can you guarantee my rating goes up?

No - and nobody honest can. Only the VA decides ratings. What we can do is make sure you don't leave claimable conditions unclaimed or file with missing evidence, which are the two most common ways veterans get less than they've earned.

Where does my information live?

Your claim work (answers, checklists, statements) lives in your browser on your device - it never touches our servers. We only store what payments and sign-in require. Details in the privacy policy. Back up your work anytime via ⚙ → “Download my progress.”

I bought the workup - how do I use it on another device?

  • To unlock it there:tap Sign in, enter your purchase email, and open the emailed link on the new device.
  • To move your notes:they stay on the device where you wrote them. Download a backup file from the ⚙ menu, then restore it on the new device.

How do I get diagnosed for a condition?

You need a diagnosis from a medical professional - self-reporting a condition is not enough. Three common routes:

  • VA healthcare.Enroll at VA.gov. Many veterans qualify even without a rating.
  • Your own private doctor.Bring up every symptom you actually live with, and ask that each one be documented.
  • Telehealth.Common for mental health and sleep issues.

Whichever route: say every symptom out loud. An undocumented symptom does not exist to the VA. The workup's Doctor Packets help you have exactly that conversation.

What if my claim gets denied?

Denials are common - and often fixable. Paste your actual decision letter into the Decision Decoder (part of the workup) and it reads the ratings and the denial reasoning, then points you to the right review lane within your one-year window.
